High-Pressure Test Facility

Description

The plant was designed to convert hydrocarbons into marketable products by hydrogenation or isomerization.
While hydrogenation is mainly concerned with the saturation of double bonds and the reduction of the oxygen content, e.g. in crude products from Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, isomerization is primarily used to increase the octane number of naphtha or aromatic fractions by changing the molecular structure.
The system is characterized by a high degree of flexibility and enables investigations to determine process engineering operating parameters and to characterize and evaluate catalysts.
For this purpose, all reactant and product lines as well as the reactant feed are heated throughout and extensive measurement and analysis technology is installed.
Together with the flexible control system, a wide range of investigation methods can be performed.
