In principle, pyrolysis is the most suitable process for the thermal production of products that do not tolerate oxygen, for the production of gases with a high calorific value, carbonaceous coke or oil-containing condensates. The difficulty often arises from the fact that the thermal cracking of solid materials produces intermediate products which are unstable and therefore want to react further.
To develop new manufacturing processes, it can therefore be advisable to first carry out small-scale tests in order to understand the process, identify problems and work out solutions. For this reason, CUTEC has built up equipment over the last few years that can offer R&D services ranging from the first tactile tests on a gram scale to continuous operation on a kg/h scale over 24 hours a day.
